ANNEXURE - I
The National Robotics League (NRL) is a thrilling robotics event where teams engage in a variety ofactivities including pit setup, robot competitions, interviews, Innovation Showcases, and a grand awardceremony. It’s a celebration of creativity, engineering, teamwork, and the spirit of innovation. Studentsbring their built robot to participate in the final competition -
NATIONAL ROBOTICS LEAGUE (NRL) COMPETITION FORMAT
The National Robotics League (NRL) is structured to assess both human-operated control and robotic autonomy through two distinct challenges:
1. League Match (Compulsory)
League Match is the core of NRL. All registered teams must participate in this challenge. It evaluates:
- Robot’s Performance
- Team’s Real-time responsiveness to game dynamics
- Team coordination and gameplay execution
Score from the League Match contributes directly to the team’s ranking on the NRL Leaderboard.
2. Autonomous Skill Challenge (Optional)
The Autonomous Skill Challenge is an optional segment designed to recognize teams that demonstrate strong programming and algorithmic skills through autonomous robot performance.
- Teams must pre-program their robot to perform tasks without driver intervention.
- This challenge will run on a separate scoring track and does not affect the main leaderboard rankings.
- A separate award and recognition will be given to the top-performing teams in this challenge.
Teams interested in participating must declare their intent to compete in the Autonomous Skill Challenge during the Registration on Event Day.
Important Guidelines:
- Each Team will participate with only ONE Robot for the whole Competition, which includes League Match & Autonomous Skill Challenge.
- Robot Inspection should be completed to participate in League Match & Autonomous Skill Challenge.
MATCH DETAILS
In BATTLE OF CHARGES, two Squads—each consisting of two NRL teams—compete in a MATCH, which is conducted according to the setup and rules outlined below.
Match Overview
MATCHES run on 7 to 10-minute cycles, which consist of pre-MATCH setup, the MATCH which lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and the post-MATCH reset.
During the MATCH, ROBOTS retrieve the CHARGE from their Source Zone and score them into their DROP Zone. HUMAN PLAYERS can activate Supercharge Mode by pushing the button after 8 or more CHARGES are scored. ROBOTS can score and stack GOLDEN CHARGE in the GOLD RUSH PERIOD.
DRIVE TEAM & PIT TEAM
Each DRIVE TEAM consists of three members from the same NRL team. These members will have specific roles: Drive Captain, Driver, and Human Player.
All Drive Team members must be STUDENTS who are officially registered through the NRL Registration.
PIT TEAM roles are provided as a guideline. A single team member may take on multiple responsibilities. NRL recommends these key roles to ensure efficient robot maintenance and match readiness in the pit area.

CHARGE STATION
The MATCH will begin with both the CHARGE STATIONS doors closed. FIELD STAFF will reset it before the MATCHES starts.
SCORING
SQUADS are rewarded for accomplishing various actions throughout a MATCH, including scoring CHARGE in DROP ZONE, scoring & stacking GOLDEN CHARGE in DROP ZONE, engage, dock, or park in their CHARGE STATION, and winning or tying MATCHES. Rewards are granted either via MATCH points or Ranking Points (often abbreviated to RP, which increases the measure used to rank teams in the League Match Qualification Round).
• Match Score – The scores each Squad gets for their matches.
• Ranking Points – The scores that will be used specifically for ranking and are allotted based on specific milestones.
VIOLATIONS
Unless otherwise noted, all violations are assigned for each instance of a rule violation. A description ofthe penalties is listed in Table. All rules throughout the Game Rules section are called as perceived by aREFEREE.
The final call for all the scores and penalties would be of the Head REFEREE.
GAME RULES (G)
Game Rules are the basic instructions that tell teams how to play the game in the National Robotics League (NRL).
